How I Create a Month of Social Media Posts in 1 Hour
Let's walk through my favorite step-by-step process for planning and creating content for social media. I have a few tricks up my sleeve that make creating a month of content SO much easier!

We know that being consistent and showing up on social media can introduce us to new audiences, help us grow our community, and make sales, but creating content—especially content that resonates—takes time. There are a few different phases I go through every single month when I start to create content for that month.
Repurpose
Unless you’re posting on social media for the very first time, you should never be starting with a clean slate, and here's why. One of the biggest ways that I save time is by repurposing content that I've already shared. Either content that has resonated before and performed well, or content that hasn't performed well that I know has potential if I just rework it.
That alone saves me so much time, and I can get half a month of content just by doing this one step. I go back through old reels and might take an old caption from a reel and change it into a carousel, or I'll take text from a carousel and put it onto a reel. And guess what? Your audience doesn't care, and they aren't going to notice for two reasons.
One, because if it resonated the first time or it was valuable, they're going to watch it again and still enjoy it. Two, your followers don’t necessarily see every single post you put out. Just don't post the same content two days in a row. Spread it out month to month, and you'll be fine.
Current Trends
Next, incorporate new content based on current trends, current events, upcoming holidays, and what's currently working on social media. The first step I do is the planning phase, where I go onto social media and do my research.
This involves me scrolling on social media with the goal of being able to walk away from these 10 minutes of intentional scrolling with plenty of ideas to use in my social media content that month. Also, you’ll start to see are there are certain audios being used often that you can save while taking note of any ideas that come to mind.
Content Pillars
The next thing I'm going to do is plug those ideas into my content pillars. I teach three different pillars of content that everyone should be using in their social media content, which are Show, Sell, and Storytell. Now, I dive into this much deeper inside my marketing community called The Creative’s Content Club, but here’s a really quick overview:
Show is visibility content. This is the relatable entertaining content that is really resonating with your audience—it might make them laugh, might motivate them, etc. It's the stuff that's likely to be shared
Our sell content is our promotional content. So, if I have a book launch or I want to focus on one particular book of mine or a new course that I'm launching, I'm going to build that into my content for the month and plug in dates that I know I'm going to be promoting something.
Finally, we have our storytelling content, which is so vital. It is authentic. It is showcasing who we are behind the scenes of our business why we create what we create.
I think back over the previous month for anything that happened that I could turn into a story for social media and write down ideas for the show, sell, and storytell pillars.

Creating New Content
You and I both know filming or finding authentic, high-quality footage is not easy, and that's where Storyblocks comes into play (who kindly sponsored the YouTube video above!).
I know I have many authors and artists and creatives in my audience who want real content that supports real artists, and that's exactly what Storyblocks’ artist-created stock library provides. Generative AI is not a universal solution for creative work. Storyblocks’ collections celebrate the human experience, capturing stories and emotions that AI can't replicate, allowing you to tell more powerful, authentic stories with unique footage from real artists.
You get unlimited downloads of diverse and high-quality media for one predictable subscription cost with everything you need in one place—and that includes 4K and HD video images, templates, even music and sound effects. One of my favorite parts about Storyblocks is that they recommend similar clips and even similar audio, so whenever I find a clip that I really like, I already have audio and other ideas matched for me on the same page. This really streamlines the process and makes it so much easier to find clips that I want to use.
They're regularly adding content to their library and partnering with diverse contributors and artists to ensure better representation throughout their stock library.
When it comes to creating my own homemade content, I look for ways that I can film as I live my life so that it doesn't become a separate thing on my to-do list. And by that, I mean whenever I'm working on my creative work—I'm writing, I'm sitting down at my desk, I'm typing on the computer, I'm jumping in a meeting, and so on—I set up my phone and record B-roll in the background as I'm doing what I was already going to do. That way I have a library of content of my own B-roll to come back to whenever I need some extra content.
Editing
Now you can take your stock footage from Storyblocks and your own homemade content photos and B-roll and put it all together either in an editor that you already love or right in the platform you're posting on. Because my editing is quite simple, I typically do it in Instagram or TikTok themselves, but of course there's Capcut and lots of other options for you out there.
And that is how I create a month of content in a short amount of time! I'm repurposing content, researching for ideas, and then utilizing things like templates and stock footage and my own B-roll library to quickly put together content all in one sitting. I hope you enjoyed hearing a little bit more about my own creation process.
We all have different brains and schedules and bandwidths and time, and I know some of you like to create content for the month as you go whereas others love to bulk create, so whatever your own personal planning method is, if you love it, keep it! If you want to try something new like what I shared with you today, I hope you found some inspiration and ideas to repurpose that content and to make content creation quicker so that you can get back to doing what you truly love!
